Default Ported intake

I always hear people saying that they will port their intake, im not familiar with that, so i was wondering what kind of gains you get out of it.

Depends on the cam you use and the aggresiveness of the port that you go with. I'm not really going to explain this in detail as their are 10billion post on the topic, but in short porting the intake means widening the air flow passages to allow more air to enter the intake. On a stock cam you could get around 10-20 rwhp, with a nice mild cam you could get around 20-35, and on an agressive cam with a very aggressive port, with a good set of supporting mods (s/c, n2o, etc.) you could get 30-40 rwhp, maybe more.
