Default acceleration problems

I have a 2.3L with dual ignition and fuel injected. my car runs at a lower rpm than normal.... I cant go past full throttle until the rpm's reach above 3 grand. after than I can floor it. if I try to floor it at idle or before 3 grand it either boggs and the rpm's just start to slow down or the car bumps back and forth.. I can't figure it out. the check Engine light is not on so I cant run a computer diagnostics on it so I don't know what to do. if you have any info that would be great.

Default RE: acceleration problems

It could be incorrect timing, faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs, plug wire, air filter dirty, fuel filter clogged, vacuum leak etc....

it has new spark plugs... Platinum so there isn't a gap setting. New spark plug wires. New fuel Filter. clean air filter... so I guess I could just start with the timing belt. thanx for the info.
