could be because of the weight?

Mine will, if the tires and rear end will hold up.
On topic, your V6 will top out at around 130 mph. Oh, they keep it to governed to around 118mph so that you can't out run the cops.

Trust me, those cars will not go that fast, hell most of them have less hp than V6 mustangs do. Hell, even the 03-04 Terminators top out at around 180 mph, and they have nearly 250 more hp.
