Yea, it does dress it up, then the mod bug kicks in and it winds up like this.

my milage also took a hard hit after taking the silencer out, so i put it back in

Yea, go ahead and do that, you're gonna have one filthy intake a few years down the road, and sensors that are so dirty you're gonna wonder if the engine is Fing up or is it a sensor. I used to thing that was a decent idea, then I saw the long term effects of this mod on my GT when I got it.......... not pretty to say the least.
wtf are you talking about? how is getting a k&n drop in any different than getting a cold air intake with a cotton element filter?

Not 100% sure, but somehow it allows tons of dirt to get into the intake that normally wouldn't get in there, and it also keeps the MAF in the air box which is one of the key benifits of the CAI which is getting the MAF out of that damn air restrictive thing.

that nasty little modding virus is just now gettin me hard after having my car for 6 months the mods are probably gonna really start flowin next spring and summer

thats just from use, a CAI would look the same way with 150k or whatever was on your car
