With "ALL" of those mods, you'd be sitting at around 400 rwhp. Also, don't do a V8 swap, it's EXTREMELY expensive. Like you could do a full port and polish, and an S/C for the price of just droping in a V8, not to mention the cost of having the car down for up to a month. I used to have a 98 sixer myself, and you can see how I got my 5.0L. If you're gonna go through the hassle of the tranny swap, then you'll have no problem doing engine upgrades. I personally reccomend the split port intake swap (same intakne 99-04s have) you'll gain roughly 40rwhp with the swap alone, not to mention the extra hp you'll gain once you port it out, get high flow heads, and do a cam swap.

realistically, that long list of stuff jthorn mentioned is just a list of all the mods you can do with this thing, but it is VERY confusing for someone new (heck it's confusing for me too) however, the stage 2 powerpacks and the vortech are probably the best ways to go on here, but they are costy. cobra 232 is a member here who has a supercharged 98 v6 making lots of power, you should PM him and see what he says unless he comes and chimes in. The auto to manual swap will be costly, as it would be better to just suggest a shift kit that makes the automatic shift a helluva lot better than normal.

A shift kit will improve the auto tranny but if he wants to drift then an auto just wont work and a swap will need to be done.

Yea, all that stuff is just a list of most of the mods availible for a V6, you can't do all of them, you have to pic which way you want to go and take that route. See some of the websites I linked you to, they have decent writups about their products, and you can email them for advice, because lord knows if you ask it here, any answer will be seen as bad info. You can also PM RideOfTheMonth, Sidways, Hotrodsnbooz, and Cobra232 for some great advice on the more complicated products and mods.
