Others have different ideas about gears, but this is how I see it.

If you do a lot of everyday driving, then get 3.73s, there will deffinitly be a noticible differance over stock, but will still give you decent off the line control (for when you do race) and will still allow you to keep decent mpg

If you do a lot of track racing, then get 4.10s, they're great for off the line reaction times, but when you start getting higher in your rwhp figures, they will make 1rst gear very fun to play with, which, in my opinion, is not the best for everyday driving. The MPG difference between the two will differ depending on the driver, but the adverage difference seems to be approx 1.5mpg, could be a hair less, could be way more.

difference in gas milage would probably be 2-3 mpg from stock gears to 4.10s

Yep, that's the other way you can look at it, but remember, this is very driver pending, so you "could" loose more.

Well not to sound like a hippicrit, but duhh........ of course you get better launch with them, but remember, it's not about what "YOU" like and or want, it's what fits the "USERS" needs and wants.

there were entirely too many useless posts in this thread. this isn't a playground, it's a tech section. did you guys ever consider that the same questions come up all the time cause nobody can clearly answer them and most threads just turn to crap?
