Default tires

i need new tires for the stang, the ones that are on there now suck and i got pulled over the other day for chirping second not even trying to[:@] my buddy works at firestone so i can get a good deal, however, they also need to be all season tires, anyone have firestone/bridgestone/fuzion all season tires that would care to comment? how does everyone think 225/55 front, 255/50 rear would look on stock 16s?

also, snow tires for the camaro? ill probalby go with blizacks cause my buddy had em and they were decent but he only put half a winter on em cuase his maro got wraped around a pole by his step dad. hows the tread wear on them?

Blizzaks sucked on my car. i got rid of them quick. not snow traction but icy conditions they were OK. they wear fast. get cheap winter retreads with studs for the maro and put about 150lbs of sand in the rear hatch well.

as faras all seasons just go 245 or 255-50-16's all they way around. don't use smaller tires up front. you give up handling when you run smaller tires in the front. you can get plowing effect in hard turns. as far as brand Fuzion's are pretty good but directional tread. i reccomend Cooper Cobra assymetrical

ive got coopers on there now and 1-2-D shifting they will cut loose in second and its not even programed for that[8D] are 245/50s the same overall height of the 225s?

only problem with the extra wieght in the car is that there is more mass, so if it does start sliding, more momentum will carry it forward

if the coopers are not sticky enough then get Fuzion or if you can find them Fulda Extremo Carat's they are sticky and actually wear ok

98 GT came with 225-55-16's stock but 245-50-16's was the tire everybody that kept the 16's went with. i had them on my 98 for awhile and really liked that size they handled really good

believe me you need the extra weight in the back of an F-body in the winter. the extra weight doesn't make you slide any easier. if anything it will resist sliding because of the extra downforce and friction from the extra weitght. the F-body rear is too light with stiff suspension. this is not a good traction combo for snow. the extra weight makes a world of difference

i hope you don't think all season radials will go in the snow on the stang. there is no true allseason anymore. it's just a name used to make people believe they are buying a superior tire that can be used all year long, when in fact they are just a summer tire

I am running Bridgestone Potenza G009 on my 99 V6 and have been for a little over a year, been a good tire so far, great traction, good wet tration as well. Handles pretty well also.

I run these year round with no issues, the only reason youll need winter tires is if you get a whole load of snow, I even drove this car around NH for 2 weeks every Christmas visiting the ex-wifes family. The Cooper Cobras I had before sucked in the snow and slush up there, the G009's are 1000 times better. So it is really how safe you feel on all season vs winter/snow stires

I would just get a set of steel wheels from a 94-98 v6 hubcap edition, throw some good snow tires on it, you dont need 4 winter tires, unless you've got one of those special rare awd mustangs...lol, the g009's on the front will do you just fine, throw the snows on the back and just go back to your regular wheels in the spring.
