I was wondering what the stock hp rating is for the new edge. a friend of mine bought a '02 vert v6 a few weeks ago and decided he wanted to race. I said what the hell, we plotted out a 1/4 and lined up. He beat me off the line but about half way i caught him and won by about half my car. I was under the impression that the new edge had a bit more push than what a simple CAI and UDP could overcome.

 

Sn-95:

3.8L 150 hp V6
150 @ 4000 RPM
215 @ 2750 RPM


Edge:

3.8L 190 hp V6
190 @ 5250 RPM
220 @ 2750 RPM

Maybe you friend sucks at driving.

 

Both auto. and his has about 150,000 miles less than mine. I don't know maybe it was just a fluke? but we did go twice, the first time we couldn't tell who took it so we ran again and well i already told the outcome of that.

 

maybe you're friend it was Ford's fluke and he has a singleport instead of the split port...

seriously though he should have gotten you but nice kill either way

but in 96 they upped it to 150hp
as for the 193hp I always thought they where only the 3.9s.... oh well

 

no it wasnt until 98 when they uped it, the 3.9s are the same as teh 3.8s 193/225, supposedly dynos will read slightly more torque but ive never seen one dyno

 

Click I've read everywhere that they did go up in 96 by 5 , even here on our own forums. As for the 99-04s it says they had 193 since 99... go figure[sm=headbang.gif]
