engine upgrades
I just recently bought a 95 mustang for next to nothing. I am wanting to upgrade the engine to a 4.2L stroker and I wandering what all parts I will need to buy starting with a stock engine. The motor is pretty much shot. I know the block is good (atleast I think it is) but other than that im not sure what else is. It has 215,000 so im guessing not much. Any help will be appreciated. I am a novice mechanic and dont know a whole lot but I am hoping this project will help increase my knowledge. I was also wondering what other kind of cheaper bolt ons would increase the power.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
4.2L crans shaft, 4.2L forged rods/rings/pistons, 4.2L flywheel, and possibly a little head work. So in short, your engine will be pretty much rebuilt. While your internals are out, have the shop restore your block.
Where would be the best and cheapest place to get them? Also, what about the cam shaft, would i have to get a special one or would the original work? I was also told by an unreliable source that i would have to have different type of push rods. Would there be any change to the computer? I have done most of my work on older less sofisticated engines and I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to the computer parts of the car.
www.supersixmotorsports.com is the best. hopefully, i will have my 4.3 long rod stroker by June. keyword here is hopefully
