Hey everyone, i just found a place that will remove my cats for about 75 dollars. I was wondering if anyone had thiers on for awhile and then removed them? Was sound better, better hp? Thanks for your guys input.

 

From what i hear taking off the cats will give it more of a deep muscle sound (like a rumble) and make the car louder. Thats gonna be one of the things i do in the near future.

 

it should sound really really nice but does your state have emmisions?

 

I had my aftermarket exhaust installed when i was living in VA. I now live in AL and they dont have emissions or inspection!!! Thats why i am wondering if i should spend the money to get them taken off. I was trying to find someone that kindof had a before and after.

 

well then if the shop only wants 75 bucks do it! that is really cheap. most shops wont even do it because of it messin w/ the emissions stuff

 

just get a new mid-pipe and sell the old one.

 

why would i want to sell my old H?

 

well why dont you sell the old one to get a non catted one from someone like Flowmaster or Magnaflow? Or is your H pipe aftermarket already?

 

When i had my exhaust put on, i had a custom fabbed H pipe put on as well.

 

get rid of the cats, you'll like it better! Mine sounds awesome.
