Default So I turned down a GT.

About a month ago? I was ready to get my GT. But I denied it. In the long run it would've cost me too much money. Not for the insurance, but to re-mod it etc. The best offer for my car was 7400, and basically to get the GT I was looking at another 7800 out of my pocket plus cost of mods. Now I know some people can find GTs in their area for 12k. Not in my area. Not unless I want to trade an 02 v6 with 40k miles for a 99 GT with twice the mileage, screw that.

So the money I had saved up for a down payment, I used to pay off the 6. Financial freedom again! It's easy to forget how much it adds up in the bank rather than going to a dealer.

I have a shift kit, UDP, and new spark plugs that I never had installed (wasn't sure if I was getting the GT). I decided to get some mods for Christmas. I'm planning on a FRPP Bullitt suspension kit, and aluminum driveshaft. If bumpers.com can match the 02 silver paint (I heard it was only used on 02s) I'll get a GT bumper. I already bought the 18" deep dish bullitts (black), 18x9 front, 18x10 in the back, and I picked up some Hawk brake pads. I'm not putting the rims on til early March, so I'll wait for a good deal on tires. I figure all this will give the car a little extra power, good handling, and with all my other bolt ons, a nice ride... Then I'm DONE. The only other thing that I'm wondering about is high flow cats. They're on ebay for $65 each, still haven't heard enough about them.

+1. (wow i haven't posted here in a while) I was actually going to get a GT this winter, but I am in noway shape or form near enough money to pay it. plus, a GT isn't THAT big of a jump from a V6, for the money(esp if your going to pay 7 grand more, bump dat) I would save up for a Mach 1 or a New 05 GT. Right now, I wouldn't get a 99-04 GT unless I magically have money, but there are plenty of cars out there besides a Mustang GT to look at.

I'm not quite sure, but I'm thinking there was a post a while back having something to do with bumpers.com. You may want to fish through and see if you can find it. Whoever it was that made the post had a lot of trouble with them. Hopefully this will save you any trouble that you might would have with them.
