while we are on the question does it hurt the motor if u go from 1st to 2nd in a auto and it doesnt kick into 2nd right away and it goes just a little into the redline
uhh not really, theres still a rev limiter but right before the redline, pull the shifter back into 2 from drive, the d2d shift on a stock split port will get a nice chirp out of second

actualy i have done it twice 1st time i just didnt get it in 2nd quick enough i was f in arround with my friend in his rsx

2nd time i was at alight and was going to take off with some one else cant remember who but then a cop rolled up about 2 cars behind me and i forgot i threw in in 1st and took off and then realised it was in first just starting to redline it didnt hit rev limiter or any thinglike that though

does that realy hurt the motor ?????

oh and i only race at night on either this long back road that is like 2 miles long no houses on it just corn fields and it is just out side of town or the last light in town 8th mile stretch then a long bridge probably a mile long then nothing but a long stretch with trees fun as hell u race to one side of the bridge once the light turns green then u let them catch up with u then u turn on other side of bridge then 1st one to the top of bride wins again i have only raced on the bridge once but i have been behind friends

Powerband of a a six peaks exactly where your redline starts. Redline doesn't always mean "boom" more accurately it denotes an unreliable/unstable operating range...i.e. "it might go boom here" Dipping into red won't kill you, just don't do it all the time and most importantly, don't hold the thing there. Power drops off there anyhow.

Oh and since we're confessing, I've raced...everywhere.

hey bro from what i understand slap sticking it is ok if you go 1,2 D but going 40 mph and pulling it into 2 the back up to D is not cool my friend blew his transmission. i use to do it but now there is no way its not worth it if you need that much of a boost get some more performance dont break something
