Seriously though, insurance is not that much different, the older the car, the cheaper it is, and if you let the car be in your mom or dads name and you just as a secondary, then you could cheat the system and pay your mom and dads rate. Seriously, if you're gonna get a new car, at least try to get a GT, Z-28, Cobra, SS1, Firebird V8, Tans AM, something faster. You say you want speed, we'll you're not gonna notice a lot of difference between a 01 auto V6, and the one you have now. You'll notice a litlle, grant that, but you're not gonna be like, damn this car is fast, instead you're gonna hit yourself in the nuts, and start modding the car to make it what you want, then when that probably doesn't work out, you're gonna be in the hunt for a new car again, instead a V8 model this time around. Seriously, just go ahead and look into them, get a few insurance quotes, in both your name, and your mom and dads, and go from there. You can always change the title to your name in a few years, why not bennefit from your parents?

Sorry mustangman, an auto edge is still no competition for an auto 94-98 GT, the camaro, maybe, but not the mustang. I'm just telling him to look more deeply into this, because I'm getting the feeling that in another six months, or maybe even a year, we're gonna see a thread with him kicking himself in his own *** about how he should of bought a V8. I'm not telling him to go out an buy one, I'm telling him to at least research the possibilites. At least if he does that and doesn't get one he can at least say he looked into it, but it wasn't a viable option for him.

well there are several reasons why im waiting on my V8, i mean yes i WILL eventually get one, but right now i AM on my parents insurance, technically the car is my dads and i pay him for insurance, but i have full coverage so that if i get in a wreck they cant take our house (because my stepmoms 1st husband was an alcoholic who went drunk driving and killed someone and got sued for everything, now i have to suffer...) Plus my dad doesnt like me having a mustang ne way, but i dont really care, he wont let me get a truck and im sure an older car is out of the question, i tried to convince my gf that insurance was cheaper but she said they dont have airbags, they have lapbelts and no head rests.. and i didnt exactly kno why they were cheaper. its my dream to have a fastback soo... i was lookin at em dont worry.. But GT my dad wouldnt let me get one kuz of gas, i mean he said its my money but i wont beable to keep up with it, gas and insurance wise (for my V6 im already paying 185 a month)
