i made a list to help us and the new guys so we dont have to explain what lsd an udp mean uver 5 minutes

232 - Displacement in Cubic inches of 94 to 03 engines
238 - Displacement in Cubic inches of 04 Year engines
245 - displacement in cubic inches of a 05 to current engine
3 Valve - the new 05 to current engines have 3 valves for each cylinder instead of the older one for better performance
3.73's - rear gears , better acceleration over stock gears, street and strip use
3.8 - displacement in liters of 94 to 03 year engines
3.9 - displacement in liters of 04 year engines
4.0 - Displacement in liters of a 05 to current engine
4.10's - rear gears , better acceleration over stock and 3.73, but a little worse MPG , Mostly for strip use not for highway driving
Blow Off Valve - a Valve between the super or turbo charger and the throttle body it is designed so when the throttle body is closed the excess boost will be released instead of breaking something
Bolt Ons - andy minor parts that you can install your self , basic boltons are UDP, CAI, and Exhaust
Boost - the pressure that is created by a turboed or cupercharged car usualy read in PSI
CAI - Cold Air Intake
Cat's - Catalytic Converter
CC plates - Caster camber plates, used to adjust your alignment after you lower the car
DD - Daily Driver
DD - If Talking Bout Tires It means Deep Dish
Drag limited - when using 4.10'S OR 3.73'S you can only reach a top speed of around 130
DTC - Diagnostic Trouble Code
dual exhaust - exhaust that exits on the drivers and passenger side in the rear and uses any midpipe
DYNO - short for Dynomometer measure horsepower and torque of a car
ECU - Engine control unit or computer
F/I - Forced Induction , Turbo , supercharger, or Nitrous
Fox Body - a 79 to 93 mustang or 3rd gen mustang
HP - Horse Power
H Pipe - Mid pipe Shaped like a H
HCI or Power Pack - Head's ,Cam ,Intake Manifold
HID - High Intensidy Discharge lights , you know those bright blue ones that blind you when you are driving
Intercooler - like a radiator that cools the air from the super or turbo charger before it enters the Motor
IRS - Independent Rear Suspension
limp mode - when a check engine light comes on depending on the DTC it may send the car into limp mode which will not allow it to run to its full performance and you will watch ur gas gauge just fall
LSD - Limited Slip Differential
LT - long Tube Headers
M90 - A blower by Eaton that can be modded to fit a V6
M112 - A blower by Eaton that can be modded to fit a V6
MAF - Mass Air Flow Sensor
MIL - Malfunction Indicator Lamp
MIL Eliminators - Used on a exhaust with no cats in place of a rear O2 sensor so the ECU does not through a code and go into limp mode
Mpg - Miles Per Gallon
N/A - Naturally aspirated no turbo ,supercharger, or nitrous all motor
New Edge - a 99 to 04 mustang 4th gen mustang
O/R - Off Road Meaning No Cats
OEM - stock or Origional Equipment
posi - same thing as a Limited Slip Differential
Power Adders - Supercharger ,turbo or Nitrous
Power Pack - Head's ,Cam ,Intake Manifold
PP - port and polish , Grinding the openings in the intake manifold and the heads to allow better airflow to the cylinders
Prochargers - A brand of Supercharger that uses a intercooler
PSI - pounds Per Square Inch
RR - Roller Rocker
S-197 - 05 to current mustang 5th gen mustang
SN-95 - a 94 to 98 mustang 4th mustang
Shorty - Short Tube Headers
Side exit exhaust - exhaust that exits under the doors before the rear tires
single Port - the intake manifold on a 94 to 98
Split Port - the intake manifold on a 99 to 04
sohc - when a cam shaft is over each head of the motor pushing down on the valves instead of the cam mounted under the manifold and using pushrods and rockers like a stock 99 to 04 mustang
SS - stainless Steal
Straight Pipe - When their is no midpipe on the car just a pipe running from the headers to the rear and is usualy run with no cats and sometimes a muffler but not always
Take Offs - stock exhaust taken off of a gt then put on a V6 either with oem mufflers or aftermarket mufflers
TB - Throttle Body
Tlock - A brand of LSD
TQ - Torque measured in Foot Pounds
TruTrac - A brand Of LSD
true dual exhaust - same as dual exhaust but uses a h , or x pipe or Straight pipe but is not true duals if you use a y
TPS - Throttle position sensor
Turn Downs - no pipe after the mufflers just a 90 or a 45 degree turn towards the ground
UDP - Under Drive Pulleys
Vert - Convertible
Vortech - brand of super charger
Wastegate - is used on a turboed carto regulate the pressure in the exhaust line which inturn regulates the boost
X Pipe - Mid pipe Shaped like a X
Y adapter - lets u cut your stock y pipe after the cats and weld in this kit to turn your y pipe into a true dual setup with a H
Y Pipe - Mid pipe shaped like a Y (OEM For a V6)

drang limited? wouldnt that mean like air? i think you when you are using high ratio gears you just go through all your gears and are gear limited, not drag. but i'm not sure.

 

that is what i was told on hear about a week or 2 ago dont know i had never heard of it until then

 

you said that 232 was the cubic inches in 99-04 v6 engines

 

232 is the cubic inch on all 3.8L and DD's are deep dish rims for the rear of a car and a daily driver

 

thats righ it is 94 to 04 isnt it

or was it the same motor in the fox body back in 79

let me know and i will fix the years of the ci and the liters

and were the old fox bodys single port like the sn95's

throw in VORTECH as a brand of supercharger and mention that PROCHARGER KITS come with intercoolers and vortechs dont unless you buy one from AUTOBADGES.COM

but nitrous is not a means of forced induction

forced induction means forcing air into the cylinders

and nitrous does not do that

i can add nitrous in their just not under F/I or N/A
