dont shout. im poor
i say go for it. personally i think lowering springs are a waste of money when you can cut your stock springs since most people do it for looks anyway. my half brothers 02 gt has cut springs and probably has the best looking stance ive seen on a new edge stang. it's a good 2" drop at least and the tires wear evenly without cc plates. it rides pretty much the same as stock also. another lowering option would be 4 banger fox front springs and v8 fox rears. that's a budget drag setup that you could probably get for less than 50 bucks at a junkyard and it'll give you some drop.
everyone here who's ragging on cut springs has probably never ridden in or even seen another stang with cut springs. it's not like theyre progressive rate springs so the main thing is to make sure you cut them evenly and make sure they seat correctly.

well think about like this, if he messes up, he is gonna have to get new ones or used ones anyway. and i've rode in a car that had the springs cut and the ride of the car sucked, its up 2 you mustang232 in another thread u said ur bumper scrapes alot already, why would u wanna go lower?
with that said i can only post what i think, not tell u what 2 do becuz its not my car

well dont go ripping off your springs and hacking away at them if you can't cut them evenly. thats why i suggested the junkyard drag setup anyway. i dont understand why everybody here does lowering springs instead of springs that are going to help you launch the car better.
thanx for all your advise. i think im just gonna go do it. im sure i can cut them ok & if i dont it will still be cheaper than buying new eiback springs & not even having it as low as i want it. the front is already 1 inch lower than the rear so the guy who had the car before me mite have already cut the front springs as no one would lower a car 1inch on just the front. so i just need to take 1 inch off the front & 2 off the rear to look good. i dont think 1 inch is going to make much difference, ill just have to watch out for the curbs on the front roush bumper.
not only am i poor but im also quite thick so can you help explain that or send me the link to a "hot to" because i dont really know what that means. how much will it lower it by???
it's really easy to cut them, mine are cut, but I'm putting my bilstein springs back in since I moved back to ****ty roads Louisiana.
When you cut, I recommend cutting 1 1/4 rings off the front and rear. If you have a big systerm in the back it'll sit about level, if not it'll have a clean rake.
This is how mine is dropped, with bilstein shock/struts. I did a ton of research and for auto-x, cut springs actually provide excellent handling and set the lb rate almost perfect. Just make sure you cut them with either a hacksaw, cut-off wheel or sawzall. A torch will screw them up as it will change the temper of the metal and make the ride and height all screwed up. They will ride slightly more rough, but it's not terrible, and it's to be expected from a performance spring anyway. The whole point of aftermarket springs is so that the car not only handles better, but also so the driver feels the road more.
To adjust the height, remember, you can't go up, only down, take about an 1/8 of a coil off at a time and remember that it will settle about another 1/4-1/2".
