why should it be close a 98 firebird they have a 3.7 or 3.8 motor just like us whats different and if he had 4.10's anda lsd when they race he should bea able to easily beat him right

well any way im racing i think a 2000 firebird my friend bought he only has exhaust so il find out how good they are this weekend

 

the stock mustang u shouldnt be close at all.
he was gonna sell his car for a fox but his rents backed out

 

1st race- will be close ( i had a 02 eclipse gt and traded it on the stang) The eclipse is faster than a stock mustang but if feel with my mods the cars are about the same now.
2nd race - you will edge out an 06 stang with the gears
3rd race - you will not have any problem

What? Just cause the engine has the same liter size doesn't make it put out the same power. If that were the case then the 3.5L new Maxima's would be slower than our 3.8 Mustangs, while in reality the are putting out similar power to a 99-04 4.6 2V GT. Another example is the 94-98 V6's and 99-04. They're both 3.8's, but the 99-04's have like, 40 hp on the older ones. You can't judge by engine size.

The Firebird and the Eclipse both have 200 H.P. stock, the stang has 210. I'd say it all comes down to your mods and driving even though its an autos race.

 

a 3800 fbody with the y87 package is good for high 14s, my buddy went 15.3 with a muffler and drop in on stock 3.08s and i believe he had on his bridgestone blizzak tires, the 4L60-E fbody tranny with equal gearing to a 5 speed will win 9 out of 10 times

for the S197, all the new edge autos need is ajmod and exhaust to take them, they are not that much faster then the sn95 regardless of what the s197 people say
