Default Check Engine Light

hi, i took my stang to Advanced Auto parts to check why the check engine light was on .. they found out that its:

P0412 Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve A Circuit Malfunction

what is that? can i fix it myself .. if not how much roughly would it cost ....... and does it have much effect on the engine and the car's performance

I am assuming its a sensor that allows certain air pressure to youre engine. I dont think its a hard job to do, But it could be $$$ for the sensor. I would take a look at the wiring harness before you go and spend alot of money on a sensor. It could have a short in the wire. Just look close at that.

Good Luck.
