start-up problem please help
ok recently like past 2 weeks every morning when its cold i go out to start my car before school. i turn the key enough to let electronics come on and i wait untill it stops dinging, then i turn keyy all way to start and it sputters and acts like it wonts start. now after a little bit of research i think its either because of my spark plugs/ wires or oil..
i have not changed my spark plugs or wires since i have owned the car since 2002 and i do not think person before did either............
and i have always run 10W-30 oil in my car always since i have owned it is this a problem....................
any thing else that can do it?????????/

yeah after like 15 seconds of complete hell it starts and runs perfect............. and it only does it when its cold out .. if it warms up during the day and i starts it up its completely fine
like it acts like it is going to start ,, sputters,, then it acts like it died and boom it is started all in like 15 seconds or less.

check the starter
mine sounded like metal was scraping on some metal for like 5 seconds on start-up, espically when it's cold outside. i tore apart the starter, and there was something that needed to be replaced.
i asked my auto tech teacher(who used to be a tech in a garage) and he said that he's seen it more than once before, but only in 2000 models(witch is what i drive).
oh and i live in texas. needless to say how cold it gets here...

yeah how cold is it, it is a little norm to be a BIT sluggish in the cold but not that long, i would check my connections for the plugs the cold just could hinder the spark transfer on a poor connection worse than on a warmer day. really i dont know tho, just some stuff i would check
