Default funny question

ok i got a really funny question my friend wrecked his 03 GT and his headlights are still good.... my stock ones look like crap so i want to trade him.... the insurance company is going to total it and i am not sure what will happen to the car from there.... but anyways he said that they can trace theheadlights. so he said if i put mine on there and took histhey will trace it back to me and i will get in trouble is this true? how can they do it ? i know there is like a code on the lens next to the corner but is this possible?

Dude...they're not going to do that. Let's be practical here. Besides...he could just say he had aftermarket headlights and took them off to save and put on the originals. I seriously doubt they're going to go over every inch of the car looking for something different. I don't even think it's possible.

are you sure is there a code or anything they can trace..... i honestly dont see why ford would take the time to put individual codes on each set of headlights and be able to trace it back to a single individual's car............

I'm telling you, even if they do notice (Which they won't) just get him to say he put aftermarket ones on there, but when it was wrecked the took them off and put some OEM's back on. When my bro totalled his old truck they said he could take anything aftermarket off aslong as he had originals to put back in.

Even if they had a code, how the hell could they ever tace them to your car, do you think they will just hunt down every mustang in the area taking off head lights to check codes till they get to yours
