stick has about 5 rwhp over an auto and you can get a better launch not to mention wine 1st gear higher but once you get into big time performance you can not race a stick you cant switch the gears fast enough.... other than some dam guy with that old blue 5.0 but i think he had a set up where he only had to press in the clutch when he took off my dad tried to explain it i forgot what it was called. so stock you got a little advantage but not much

Get a shift kit, get a ratchet shifter, and get a higher stall converter. Then just add HP and TQ and you're good to go.
The advantages a manual transmission has over the auto are the weight(4r70w dwarfs the T5), power(as above stated) and rpms at launch. You cant launch higher than roughly 1600 with a stock auto. Thats the QnD
