hey guys i'm about to ask a question and i hope i don't make myself look like an idiot but i've notice the v6 mustangs are not dohc or sohc so what does ohv stand for and how does it work. I know how sohc and dohc but i can't figure the ohv thing out well thanks for your time

DOHC = double over head cam, no push rods
SOHC = Single over head cam, no push rods
OHV = Over head valve = push rods open and close the vales and the cam is below the valves in the block, not above as in the other 2.

DOHC & SOHC the cams are located just above the heads inside the valve covers.

OHV the cam is located in the lower V part of the block and uses push rods to go up towards the heads to open the valves.
