speedhut.com ford gauges

ok?..maybe i was wrong about the tuner..that is what i have been told by other people on here with tuners..to recalibrate the speedo for when you get gears...i guess i just assumed it would have the other function too

anyway no i don't have those gauges yet but i plan to buy a set of the GT ones and then remove my speed limiter with a tuner

either way you can buy a used GT cluster then take it to your ford dealer to have YOUR mileage entered into the computer for the GT cluster...then you can get the overlays that are made for the GT...that way is a little more expensive but if you can't use a tuner to recalibrate the speedo then i don't know of another way

also whitegauges.net has cheap overlays and you can pick your color too...not as custom as the speedhut ones but still look nice and a LOT less expensive

with the car turned off, push the trip button and turn the car to the "on" postion
let off the trip after about 5 seconds when turned on after the guages "sweep" to the buried postion

keep hitting the button until the trip display comes up ENG 000.0

that link should be a sticky and that also works on all fords that i have tried it on that have a Digital odometer

and to let you know when you go to DTC codes depending on you year car it may say none or be blank or it could say 5284 which is a oil pressure switch failure dont be alarmed their may not be a problem with your car even though it says their is a problem their is not. on my 04 3.9 it says it but i have a scan tool and once i hooked it up scan tool didnt detect any thing and some one told me on 3.8 mustang that it is certain years that do do it and if you are realy worried go to autozone or the dealer and get them to scan it if the scan doesnt show anything dont worry about it he said that he has heard of a few people who did this and payed the money to replaced the switch and it still did it

i replaced my oil pressure sender unit because my oil gauge was actin funny sometimes after startup. every once in a while it would drop down for a min. then come back up. i know it wasnt the engine. the new sender cost 8 bucks and i did it in 10 min. its easy, just a b*tch to get to. that could be what that code is seein, it just doesnt get to the point where the gauge acts funny.
