Turn OD and traction control off if you have it. And D2D shift.

OD just drops you down a gear then you normally would be in... so ... i would suggest doing it until you get going fast enough... but most races are done by the time it would hurt your engine to leave it off

leave it off, turn off the air, and no traction control, then D2D shift. start in D and take off when u get to 4600 shift to 2 then when u redline shift back to D

i keeps u out of 4th gear which u never really go into during a race, on the 1/4 u may need it, basically it just keeps u in third longer and never shifts again

From other automatics I've driven being in OD didn't matter at all. Once you go WOT it shifts down and you'll never see OD again until you let off the gas or max out the regular gears. Well I don't know about the Fords though.

like i said most races are over in just 3 but if it was a long race then u could max out 3rd adn if your od was on it would shift to 4th instead of using more of 3rd where u have a steeper ratio
