My overdrive button is next to the base of the shifter, not actually on it. I was just wondering when Ford started putting the button right below the auto shift button?

 

are u sure it wasnt relocated, 99 had it under the button, do u have the same shift **** as the new edges?

 

mines under the button aswell.

i was thinking of putting the trac control and o/d button together so if im going to race, i only need to hit one button.
but o/d is really just for highway, so it wont matter unless we're rolling.

My auto shifter is sitting in the garage where it will stay, lol but yea mines a 97 and it had the newer looking shifter like the 98.

So I would assume that '96 was the last year for the base mounted OD. Or could mine have been moved? It seems pretty "stockish" <--(not a word;I know) are there any other '96's here?
