How do you remove n automatic shifter nob?
I was thinking about replacing it to an 8 ball looking one or somthing different im just not a fan of the T handle.
How would I go about removing it....arent there springs and other components in there or does it twist off ...? I have no clue and i dont want to mess with it untill i have a clue of whats going on inside of there.
Thanks for the help

There's an entire section of tech help tips at the top area of the V6 forum, one of which is how to convert an auto shifter into one that looks manual with the boot and ****.
how does that **** work though?
is there a button on it some where not pictured?
can you wire the o/d button into the trac control button and press one button to turn both off?

oh and for the original question, there is a small hex head bolt thing that you can remove w/ an allen head wrench in the back of the shifter. its deep down inside a hole in the back. you will see it if you move the shifter into first and look at the back of it. unscrew it then pull it off. it will come straight off but it might take some force. just be carefull not to rip the o/d wires out when you pull it off.
it will take lots of force to get the shifter off, i had to yank, pull and beat mine off. if that eight ball doesnt have a button on top then it wont work, u will prob have to go with a **** like from upr products which is made for an aod
actually when o/d is off it won't let u go to 4th just for future reference...and i had a allen screw on my aod **** and i got my **** from upr and yes it has a button on the top for obvious reasons...and i believe upr has the sells the shift ***** with the buttons attached...it shouldn't be extra
go to uprproducts.com and browse there shift ***** here is a pic of mine and it is also the one i think that 95stangs has, i installed that and a boot from redlinegoods.com i also got he od relocation bracket but it really isnt necessary u could just drill a whole in the radio bezel somewhere behind the shifter to relocate it too, its up to you on how creative u want to be
