they have alot more options and most tuners use them over diablo.

I am waiting to find a good used price on one or the other but I am hoping for the SCT because the local Dyno place uses SCT and I want to have a custom tune made.

 

alright, so i take it SCT owns diablo, now i just gotta drive down to steeda and do the pick up.

Neither device is better than the other, they are both simply a means of interfacing with your vehicle's ECU. These guys that say the XCal 2 is better than the Predator have either not used either one and are just repaeating what someone else has said, or they do not know how to use either of them to their full potential. The only difference that matters is the quality of the tune(s) loaded onto them, as in the experience of the person writing the tune. If your local dyno shop uses Diablo CMR software and they have a good reputation, consider the Predator. On the other hand, if your chosen dyno shop uses SCT software, consider theXCal 2. If you considering simply buying aflash tuner and using only the canned tune(s) that come pre-loaded on them, the edge goes to the XCal 2 in my opinion, because there are some very good off-the-shelf SCT tunes out there for the V6. Also, for '04 owners, Diablo does not offer a flash tuner compatible with that model year.

 

so is a tuner not something you can do by yourself and only with the help of a dyno shop?
