If you're going to take it somewhere, I wouldn't prep it. My body man is very picky and likes to do all prep work himself.

just paint it and install it yourself... ive saved about 500 bucks overall on painting and i have no training in auto body paint. look aroung the internet and get some tips
do you have a paint gun? where did you get it if you do and how much was it. i might be gettin the mach 1 hood soon..maybe...and if i could i would paint it myself.

When you ordered from bumpers.com, did the paint exactly match? What color is your car?

i doubt it should take that long. the prep will take the longest-cleaning, sanding, cleaning, primer, another coat ormaybe 2 of primer, maybe a very light sand if you want. the actual painting wont take too long. you dont have to wait a day for it to dry each time. depeding on the paint, its usually a lot less than an hour between coats.
