Default 95 v-6 check engine light

Hey all. I got an issue with my 95 v-6. the check engine light came on. I took it in and they said it was a bad O2 sensor. My code reader says bank 1 sensor 2. Where is bank 1 sensor 2? They told me it was the passenger side behind the catalytic converter...The guys at the shop said the sensor was bad and said it was running lean and that the fuel injectors needed cleaned because the sensor said the car was running lean. Is this the case? I didn't get any fuel issue codes to come up so that's why I was wondering...they also said that my spark plugs/wires needed replaced.
My gas mileage I have noticed has been going into the toilet, and that's got me concerned especially now that the check engine light is on, tho its not showing any fuel issue codes....
and would the spark plugs/wires have anything to do with this?
