ok so i got my stage 1 installed today....the pedal is alot softer feeling, it clicks, it doesnt grip until the last minute, and when it does grip its instant and sometimes shakes right before....i guess it has to break in but im not sure

odd. my spec 3 isn't much stiffer than stock and it grips just fine. didn't have to alter my driving much at all for the new clutch.

When I got my stage 1 spec installed it is/was a little easier to push on, but was rather touchy, like I pushed it in and you felt the damn thing grab, and the MFer didn't want to let go when going from a stop light, but it's normal. Spec speciffically says "NOT TO" put the car in WOT for at least the first 500 miles after changing the clutch because it needs break in time, and that they are not being held resposible to any damage that can occur because of you pushing the car. I found it didn't fully break in until around 700-800 miles after the change, but after that, nice and smooth again, but you still fill that biotch grab when you get on it, spec FTW.[8D]

Nope, that's something I'd really let a shop do. Any major tranny work, engine internal work, etc, I'd let a "certified" shop do. You'll pay a little more than to have a no name shop do the work, but at least you know it's probably gonna be done right, and most of them warranty their work. A clutch really isn't major, but it's complicated enough and kind of hard to do unless you have a lift, that I'd let a shop do the work.

No, doesn't effect anything what so ever other then the shifting of the tranny and how much torque is allowed to pass through, because stock clutches are only good to so much. In any since, a stage 1 is intended for stock to near stock vehicles and is great/perfect for every day driving.
