use lots of sandpaper. start out w/ like 800 or 1000 grit and wetsand the lights. do it a lot. then move to a higher grit. when you get to like 2000 you really really need to spend a lot of time sanding. it will take a good 20 min. of sanding w/ just the 2k grit. then you will need ot use some polish of somesort..turtlewax works good. just put it on a rag and rub it in reallly good then rub it off.

If you sand them down do you have to keep them polished all the time or is that a one time thing?

its a one time thing, after you do it once it should last like that for a long time.

my cousins headlights were oxidated and rubbed tooth paste into them and it cleaned them up better then i would have thought, but it sounds like you actually scratched yours.

Tooth paste is a mild abrasive. I've used it before after cutting and sanding a peice of plexi glass to get a very smooth corner. I imagine you could use it on your headlight as a final step. Brasso would work too, people use it to polish scratched ipods.

I had some 600 grit laying around so I tryed that on minethis afternoon. I usedbaby oil to polish it up after I was done sanding and it turned out really nice. Saved me a chunk of change b/c I was about to Ebay me some new ones. Thanks for the info!
