just a shot in the dark, they made a c5 which was kind of odd ball and a little weaker but it had better cooling or something. i'd venture to guess that's what you have.

go to the 5.0 section, most guys in this section deal with 94-04 sixers!

I would say this much, it would be much cheaper to go out and get a car with a 5.0 then to do the swap, becasue there's a lot more that needs to be done then just swaping engines.

k member, driveshaft (maybe), rear, trans, crossmember, bellhousing, engine&mounts, throttle cable, fuel lines, non computer distributor, maybe radiator...it's not that damn much when you're not messing with fuel injection. then you get into the brakes and suspension debate, but that's preference.

C5. basically a C4 with a few differences. not sure if the 302 bell is the same as straight 6

call transgo if you want a shift kit for it to verify if a C4 kit works

They also made a C3 for a while in the 80's. The bellhousing was the same as the C4 but the trany wasn't as tough.

yeah i though the C3 was used in the pinto mustang II and early 2wd rangers.

4we rangers are C5 and i believe fox 3spd auto's with the straight 6 4cyl and 3.8 were C5 also.

i think the C3 was a lighened version of the C4 with smaller internals to keep weight down on the compact RWD cars

the C5 was an attempt to modernize the C4 but i don't think it worked real well
