Autocrossing
My friend invited me to go Autocrossing with him on sunday. I've never been so is there anything I should know about it? How do our V6's do autocrossing. I'm not worried about messing up my tires either because I have the stock 16's I'm going to throw on the rear so that I don't mess up my 17's. So any advice would be greatfull.
Thanks,
Mike

Yeah harv used to do pretty good in autxing when he had his stang. He did a lot of work to his sixer tho. You probably wont do great since you just have springs, cuz youd probably be around a lot of AWD cars like scoobies and stuff, but hey I would still go an have some fun!
if you could go to a junk yard and pick up a sturt tower brace of any 2n95 and some subframe connectors off of a vert or somethin you could weld in the sfc's and that would help alot.
Actually V6's handle excellenty on the autocross course. Extremely good weight balance over the GT. I smoked some Trans Ams and Z28's when I went it out.
Go out and try it, just keep in mind, faster isn't always faster

I run the corners with mine. The only cars I can't out do are Miatas.
I suggest getting to know you car for a few runs. Just feel it out. Find the point it breaks traction, and live right on that edge. Your sig doesn't mention if you've swapped out your diff for a t-lock or possi unit...so I'm assuming you have an open diff still. If that is so, expect the rear to break loose easier on the left turns, and expect some bogging down and goofy wheel spin going tight to the right. Run your 17" wheels, you'll want them.
Also, keep your bottle at home that day. It's dead weight when it comes to running short courses.
Once you feel out your weak points, modify the car to over come them. I'd suggest stiffening up the chasis a lot with sub frames a strut tower and things of that nature.
