OMG, how many MPG threads are gonna be started?

I think it's a 12 or 13 gallon tank. I have no idea how much MPG I get, never bothered to check, nor do I care too much, cause I'm gonna drive it if I'm getting 2 or 20 mpg.

an easier way 2 figure it out is check how many gallongs of fuel u bought. then use ur trip odometer (when u press it in once) and measure how many miles you traveled. then reset the trip odometer everytime u fill up. I drive in town and race a bit, so i get from 14.5 - 15.5 mpg (yeah it sucks)

Your tank is 15.7 gallons but since you fill till the pump clicks off, you also have some in the filler tube. Calculate with 16gal.

Gas mileage is relevant to Horse Power, Irregardless of number of cylinders, since most of the people here have different HP increase over stock, their Gas mileage would also be different, and then there is the "how you drive" factor. so asking a Mustang owner what mileage they get is kind of like asking a lightning owner about tire wear. The answer for both would be YES.

I get about 18mpg.
Also when the fuel light comes on, there is about 2-3 gallons of gas left inside the tank.
So if you calculate your mileage, don't divide by 16 (15.7) divide by like 13.5 instead to give you a more accurate reading.

So what you may think is 15mpg is really 18mpg.

I dont know whats wrong, but i just filled up the tank/reset my travel miles on my dash, and at half a tank iv only gone 45 miles. Thats horrible considering its less then 10 miles a gallon.

Guessing, yes, thats pretty much what I do when I decide if I need gas or not.

Hippo,Im convinced that the gas guages in all Mustangs are a piece of junk.I can leave in the morning with 1/2, get to school(8miles) and have 3/4, and then get back home with little under 1/2. I think its all about the hills and the level of gasoline changing with inclines....damn mountains
