alright..im at a standstill... i cant decide between whether to get headers...or to get a chip?? what do u guys think i should do and which would give me the most bang for my buck... mac longtubes or this chip http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/chips.htm(top one $270.00)

what am i looking at for HP and ****..longtubes = 8-10 and chip is waht?? like 7 hp if that?

will the chip also quicken shifts?

For sure go with the longtube headers. They net around 8hp and will give you better sound.
The chip is ok if you are finished modding your car as they are programmed for your specific upgrades, and if you add more stuff to your car, you have to remove the chip and change the "tune".

I learned this the hard way, my chip fryed and caused the 'check engine' light to go off, and I had to go to the dealer, it badly decreased performance and mileage during this time.

So the headers will give you the horsepower, and for the **** part, I guess just open up your hood and plop and nice turd right there on the manifold. [8D]

Yes, the chips do work and "wake" up your car, but they really aren't worth the money.
And if you are leaning towards a chip then I would just go with a SCT or Diablo tuner instead.

Get a tuner, not a chip The headers won't add much at all on a stock motor and the stock manifolds are good up to 300 hp.

if your got the money for headers escpcially if your gonna do install yourself b/c install prices are a bitch.
They will add more HP and give your car a much better sound

get the tuner first so you can turn off your back O2 censors after the headers are in.
