Default intake swap

so does anybody know if there would be any advantage to swaping out the upper on my car to a f150 split port upper or a windstar split port upper? i know it would take some work butif i can find one of these in a junk yard really cheap ill port and polish it and put it on. also, does anybody know a good way to relocate the iac? if i do get a f150 or windstar upper im afraid the iac wont clear the hood because it sits way up on top of the intake. i like the f150 and windstar intakes becuae it think it looks badass havin the tb up front and i could make my own cai for it that i would later replace with a tube to the shaker that will go on.

You will gain a few hp and a little more tq with one do to the better design for moving air. The front inlet upper (F150/Windstar style) are much taller than the Mustang counter part and will require a cowl hood to clear it reguardless of where you mount the sensor. It is a straight swap though, there is no moddification needed to bolt one on. Just buy the inlet tube (or an F150 cold air intake) to match it.
The lower is the same, so don't buy one, just get the upper.

wow, i was hopin you would reply, didnt expect it to be the first one. lol. that sucksthat it sits up so high. you think a mach 1 hood would give it enough clearance? i dont know exactly how high they sit up there.

You plan on running N2O? It also clears up the distribution problems from running nitrous that the stock upper has.

You have the hood scoop. Cut out the bottom, make it functional andclear up the fitment problem all at once. depending on how high it still has to go up...

Keep in mind youd have to reposition the throttlebody to the front and relocate the coil pack and misc. stuff.

I've seen the 2 1/2" cowl need to be cut to allow the F150/windstar upper to fit.

wow, that f*ckin sucks. thats not good, i might have to forget about it. i knew it sat up high but i didnt think it did that high. and yea i know i would have to move the tb and stuff jovez. the coilpack would be easy, and the tb wouldnt be hard, probably just need a longer throttle cable. and another bracket. if it werent for clearance i would buy one of these this weekend......

Pinto Beast on 3.8mustang has the upper on his car. If you search for his, you'll see the height issue.
