if i were to get one of these cams...which one would i get for a 2001 auto v6??? can someone explain to me the difference?
idk too much about cams but my friend is getting one and its giving him 40rwp for his beamer.. how much horsepower would each of these cams give me? for only $300 i think i may get one pending ur responses.. and also, can i jsut throw the cam in my car and not have to upgrade anything else??? how much is install (and is it hard or easy)
thanks
i will go get my piece of paper that has my cam specs and i will give them to you....but let me warn you....if you dont get a gear and a stall to back it up, it will slow you down....trust me....im tryin to get those two now....
None of those will work, they're all made for V8s.
I would not ask an online forum what cam to get, first make a list of what you want to do, like S/C, port/polish, head swap, etc. Then go to a site like www.rpm-mustangs.com and or www.supersixmotorsports.com and let them know your plans and what you want your car to do.
Remember a cam swap will drastically affect not only the performance of the car, but it's drivability as well.
For a near stock setup, I wouldn't go with a cam that has more than .490/.490 lift, now if you're doing a little more, than .520/.520 range would be about the limits, but that's also for a V8, so a sixer will be a little different.
You can also PM Cobra232 for some advice on this as he has a nice deal of experiance.
