the next step
so ive got all the simple bolt ons, ebay cai, 2 1/4 duals and an udp, now im ready to move onto the next step and i really need some advice, btw my stang is a 95
1. i recently emailed rpm mustang on about upper/lower intake manifolds and they told me it wasnt really worth it unless i got heads ported too, what is ur opinion on this and is really somewhere i should go next
2. nitrous, id like to have it and ive been lookin around, seems like nx is the way to go, where is the best place to get it and do i just get a standard ford kit or what
3. finally, my rear end, 3.73s? t-lok, i really need this next huh?? i know the tranny guy at work will help me do this all for free, new bearings and seals and the works, so im thinkin i really need to step up and do it
any other advice would be great too, ive searched a lot and got a lot of info but i still thought i should ask on these subjects, thanks

single port... older car... if you have the money blow it and self port out your upper and lower... if not... juice it and self port... if you want rear end and only want acceleration, go with 4:30s or 4:10s... 4:10s will probably be a better bet since gas prices are going up and up and up...
do a split port swap its cheap and will give you pretty decent power and what tranny do you have 5spd go with 3.73 auto go wit 4.10, as for nitrous get the nx im not sure what kit is good but i have heard lots of good things about nx on the v6's!!! upper and lower will give about 20hp but so will the split port swap and unless you know how to port its easy to mess it up so split port swap is a better idea that and you will have a better base for more mods!!!! dont forget cams too $200 aned 20+hp can go wrong but unless you can do the work install will kill you very $$$$!!!!
yea installing shouldnt be a big problem on anything, im working as an intern at the pontiac dealership in town, all the guys have pretty much offered to help me with anything i ever need, so if i cant do it ill find someone to help me, split port kinda catches my attention, im gonna do some research on that, can anyone give me info, thanks
stangs 94-98 have what they call singel port! only one intake port per cylinder! split ports 99-04 have two ports per cylinder! this creates more and better airflow=more powa!!! its a very popular swap you need the upper and lower intake the heads and other misc parts that im not familiar with but i f you have trouble finding what parts you need i can ask around my other boards and find out for sure!!! ive been told the 94-98 stangs have a more agressive cam so you will have the best stock parts all put in one package but again a cam would give you another 20hp easy!! good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!! im not one of these guys that will diss you for not using the searc feature ill just answer to the best of my ability!! or point you in the right direction!!
i would go with gears first and foremost, since mustangs are dogs from the line. If you have the money get some ported heads and intake, but dont just get a cam it would be pointless for a 94-98 since their cams are a lot better off than a 99-04 as someone already stated. If you get new heads, intake and such throw in a cam so you can do it all at the same time. Also some roller rockers would give you a few hp.
I think you've been waiting for me to come answer you questions about everything. I'm still single port just so you know.
1. Porting just your intakes is a terrible idea. For a stock and somewhat modded car your intakes are just fine. So just porting them would be a waste of money. Your two biggest restrictions at the moment are your little cam and your sucky heads. When I did my heads and cam swap I picked up 54hp and 55tq at the rear wheels. I went with a 216/225 cam and some ported heads. That's what you need to do to pick up some serious power. But by doing that, you'll also need a GT, or Lightning MAF and a chip or flasher from SCT. Any other chip brand is a waste of money.
2. I personally hate nitrious. i think it's a gay way of making power, but power is power so. Also it can be addicting just so you know. You might as well buy a SC then. It'll come out cheaper in the long run.
3. 3.73's is an excellant selection. Even with an auto, 3.73's will be a huge improvement over your stock 2.73's. Just from that mod alone you can expect about a 1 sec decrease in your E.T.
Finally, I recently just opened my own business and I'm currently working on a new design of intake manifolds for us single port people. If you want to monitor the progress of it you can visit my site at www.rdmotorsport.com. I personally have a 4.2L V6 in my 97 Mustang and I'm pushing 218rwhp and 265rwtq, but now my intakes need to be modified to allow for more air. Keep watching for these in the future!!
