Im new here, only had my 98 mustang V6 5spd for about 3 weeks now. I am getting on average (only two tanks) 16 MPG. I just replaced the clutch the week that I bought it. Is this average milage or should I be getting better? What can I change or check to get better MPG? This is a V6 shouldnt I be around 25 MPG stock?

a lotof the 94-98 ive seen get from 16-20. the new edges usually get 20-23. that varies a lot though. some get a lot lower some get a little higher. they arent that great with mpg.

 

Mines an 04, 5 spd. and gets 17.5 city if I keep my foot out of it.

 

Yeah, I started a thread about this a few weeks back.

Anyway, since then, mine's been getting about 20, mix of highway and city, nothing too outlandish...

 

i get around 15-17 in the city and can get 28-30 on the highway

 

HAHAHAHAHAHA sorry to say but the V8s get the same gas mileage

Why is it a GT owner always has to come into the V6 section with nothing good to say? Maybe we should pop up in theres laughing at them for paying higher insurance premiums?

 

my auto 02 gets on average 21-22 all city. its best was 24 for city. and i got 29 when i drove to maine after Xmas(topped tank-low level light all highway[8D]).

 

City driving, the v6 stangs pretty much compare to GT's. Highway miles is where the 6 definitly has the advantage. I know i can go 400miles on a tank of gas all highway(with an easy pedal). The GT's as far as i know can maybe get 350.
