Default Crate Motors

My friend has a sexy WRX pushing almost 600 hp. So i was talking to him, and he said a good invesment would be to look into crate motors that would fit in my car. So iv been looking around, but i really dont know much about the subject. But do you guys have any info about crate motors or other motors that fit into a 2003 car?

Im not looking for opinions on if its a good investment of my time or money or not, im simply looking for facts about the topic. Thanks in advance

if you want to get creative get a 460 and build a cheap set-up for about 2k at 400 hp, then think bout supporting mods

Well getting the engines wont be that difficult considering the sick conencts i can get from the guy i just started working with. But i just dont know enough about cars to plan something to this degree alone.

Engine swaps are the kind of thing that have to be done over time. Most likely you'll think you have everything, then go to do the swap and realize you forgot something. This is bound to happen several times over the swap. If you do do it, make sure you have another form of transportation while the car's down, cause it'll be down for at least a week or two.

Oh jesus....Xemeth, why did you even bother? Hippo, look into either a Morana crate V6 or a SSM crate V6. Easiest swap you can do, will literally be like unplugging the v6 inyour car and plugging a new one in.

If you plan on going with a carbed engine, wich most crates are you will not need a computer/harnesses, radiator, or cluster. What do you need to know about them? Do you want an email address for more information? My cousin works at Roush in there Parts department, and used to build them. Or i could ask him Guys have a good one

^ SSM and Morana V6 craters can come either EFI or carbed. Im telling you guys, a super charged or turbo charged 4.3L SSM crater or 4.4L Morana crater V6 well get you HUGE hp gains and be an incredibly simple swap.

That's if he's talking about swapping another V6. What if he's looking at crate 5.4L engines?
