I have a 99` v6 with a bad engine. Is it possible to put a 1990's thunderbird engine into my mustang????? someone told me that they were the same engine. If not, any other ideas on where to get a decent used engine????

you probably could but it wouldnt be worth it. whats wrong w/ the engine? look around on ebay for another 99-00 engine. or you could always try a v8 swap, it would just be a lot more work.

Its the same block, but if you would like to adapt the supercoupe engine to your edge mustang, you would have to swap out the entire top end. heads/intake/most of the accessories on the front/ etc. But technically it is possible, worth it no.. You would gain about roughly ten horses, but you will see about ~300 LB/FT torque, so if the torque increase is worth it, go for it. else just go procharger/vortec/turbo and you would see some better gains.... much better.

 

cool! thank yall for your help! im not sure exactly whats wrong with the engine, i am taking it to the shop this week. the engine is rocking, making weird noises and smoking real bad when i start it. it is also leaking oil everywhere
