Default New Gears Break in??

I'm installing Motive 3.73 gears with a Ford Racing posi unit but I was wondering what the break in procedures or timeline is for the gears once they are in. Thanks

500 miles of easy driving, change out the fluids and you're set.

Yeah, there are clutches in the limited slip that need to be broken in, just like a tranny clutch.

I have always been told three heat cycles, about 50 miles per cycle, then if you WANT you can change it. What about differentals without clutches? Most of the time at the shop i just hear them tell people that to make sure theres no mistakes, or they say keep it easy for a month because thats how long its garenteed for

No break-in for gears is needed;for example there's no break-in requirement for gears when you buy a new car is there? It certainly will not hurt anything to break them in easily, but it's not really necessary.

Makes sense what u've said above. But these motives pissed me off a bit because they started whining.I took the car back to the shop, they inspected everything and it was fine.I told them to put some hi synthetic oil and it still whined after that. When I got out of the shop the mechanic told me u have possibility of them whining because thats how racing gears are.
