Well mine were welded before so they will need to be welded again. Which I think is better anyway. I dont see why it would be different. I think somebody was giving you sh*t man.

I could probably take off my old hangers (if possible) I am not to sure If I already thru them away or not.

The OEM GT muffler and exhaust tip hangersfit the '99-'04 V6 perfectly when installing a GT takeoff catback. I've done it myself on a '04 V6. One unusual thing about the stock GT setup is the alignment of the right-side muffler compared to the left side, but that's something only Ford can explain. Granted if you're keeping the stock V6 rear bumper cover and running the tips out beneath it, you would have to shim the two exhaust tip hangers.

they will fit but wont clear the v6 bumper so either the hangers have to be longer or the metal on the tip (hanger) needs to be longer

The OEM exhaust tip hangers on a GT are square rubber pieces inside a metal bracket that attaches to the vehicle frame. The GT exhaust tips have a rod or shaft welded onto them that inserts into a hole in those square rubber pieces. To lower the tips so they will clear a stock V6 bumper, you simply need to shim between the metal bracket of the exhaust tip hangers and the vehicle frame. I personally don't like the look of straight exhaust tips below the stock V6 bumper cover, and recommend going with a GT takeoff bumper cover instead, but it is do-able.
