as yall know i purchased a red mustang 02 like last week and well today i was driving back from my bros job and i noticed my fuel was low, so i said to my self ok ill wait until i exit by my house then fill her up, when i exited the low fuel light came on i was like no biggy, the gas station is right there so i pulled in put in 20 bucks and then tried to start it and it wouldnt go, no crank or nothing was just silence i had power and everything but the bitch wouldnt start, so i called the tow truck guys and waited 45 mins i decided to try it again and they pulled up when i tried it the lil mother ****er finnaly decided to start wtf? , does anyone know wtf happend to my car?

 

When you say "no crank", do you mean it wouldn't even turn over? What did it do? Did it make a clicking sound? We need more info.

 

you vapor locked the fuel system by running it dry. after a period of time the pressure in the line dropped below the fuel pump's ability to fill the line and allowed it to start later.


change the fuel filter immediatly as you probably sucked enough fuel/water sludge through the fuelpump sock to clog the filter

 

i turned it to start and hear nothing. nothing happend no noise no clicking or anything. i think it was the fuel switch tho i fiddled with some **** in the back of my trunk looking for it and couldnt find it so i probaly hit it by accident wen i was messing with everything else

 

k where do i get a new fuel filter from? dealership?

 

any auto parts store will have a fuel filter, you can change it yourself, if you have the right tool, or take it somewhere to get it done

 

any parts store, and get the 6-8 bux tool there too

 

You can get it changed at a Jiffy Lube

 

if he needs to change it immediatly, i dont think driving to a shop would be good.
plus, its not that hard to do it in your own garage.

 

bardock, my buddy told me that ford builds mustangs with a switch to activate the fuel flow on/off because when you hit something the button comes out if impacted on something hard, so not to explode, anyway, its a safety feature, and theres a button in your trunk that you need to press, i know on the sn95s its on the left side of the trunk, not sure in new edges.. hope that helps
