Default charging issues.......

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.

My cousin has a 98 Mustang converiable with the hi pro V6 engine with auto tranny. Alternater making "whining" noise while running and then dies. Bad alternater. Replaced it charges great, but my cousin advises that it died again. So they replaced the battery. Still does that same thing. After it sits for 10-15 mins it will start up fine. I'm wondering if the charging system is failing somwhere. Could I have a bad alternater? Or is it something else I'm missing? Help a brother out!!!

Usually a charging problem won't make it die though.

yeah that doesn't sound like a charging problem if it is dying, is he getting a check engine light, is the car overheating? how many miles?

Bought the Alternator from Kragen's (west coast), they dont have the special testing tool to verfiy that the alternator was good or bad. Anyway, the car died again and needed a jump. They took it a local mechanic, they advised him that the small plug on the top of the alternator needed to be replaced. Now I'm not familiar with Ford charging systems, the parts guy advised that plug needs to be replaced. I will check the connector, but I need input.

Thanks.
