Over Drive
when i bought my car i didnt even think to check but the over drive button doesn't work. Yes the car has the over drive option, whats the best way i should go about getting this fixed. Its not a dash light error either because when im cruising around 40mph and hit the button the car still sits at a bit over 1k rpm when it should be upwards of 1800. Should i bring it to a shop or could i fix it?
i'd be worried if you had the opposite problem, but i dont see the big deal unless you drive at that speed regularly and need it not to be in overdrive.
try it from a higher speed like 65 and see if the rpms jump up

my od light for my mustang only lights up when the od is OFF, meaning it is always on until you push the button to turn it off. so your rpms should be lower right? its bad to run with the od off over 40
the od should really kick in over 40, do what jugador said and try it about 60, u should then jump to about 3k rpms if u turn it off, really the od just locks u out of 4th gear so u are really only shifting up to 3rd which makes the engine work harder since it is a steeper ratio
