Default X-Pipe Question

Since they don't make a x-pipe for the 3.8 I wondering if I could buy a Bassani X-pipe (for a 4.6) and get it bent to hook-up to a set of MAC longtube headers? or would it already hook-up out the box?

just remember there is no benefit of an H or X pipe on an even fire 90 degree v6. no power will be gained. the best setup is a divorced true dual exhaust or a custom 3" single

Divored meaning the two exhaust flows never meet up as they do in an X- or H-pipe? Why is there no gain?

Also: is that 'divorced' setup with or without cats? Looking to customize the exhaust on the V6 I am planning on getting, and want to know the best sounding, best performing setup, but must have cats because I can't stand that smell...!

divorced meaning no crossover. they never meet up. the H or X pipe is designed to equalize exhaust pulses in V8's which are odd fireing. the 90 deg even fire V6 doesn't need to have exhaust pulses equalized because they already are.

my choice is the MAC off road H-pipe ( because it will bolt up to factory headers even though the H-pipe isn't needed it doesn't hurt power either) with random technology super hi-flow cats welded in part# 702500

don't go out of your way for the X-pipe. any H-pipe will be fine or a custom dual with no crossover is fine too

Quick question off topic:

If I had an odd-firing V8, which would give better performance: H- or X-pipe. Just out of curiousity.

So evening up the exhaust tone in an odd-firing V8 heightens performance, or is purely cosmetic (sound in this case)?

hard to say. mostly it just makes a different sound between the 2 though some will argue 1 will make more power than the other
