HELP PLEASE
Sorry guys but the 'lemon law' does not cover just one problem with a used car, if it did amost every used car sold would be a lemon. You have to have multiple problems before you can claim it's a lemon and even then it's not easy and if they bought it "as is" sorry to say but they are most likely S.O.L. That's why it's so important to have a mechanic check out the car BEFORE you buy it.
so, if i bought my car from an private seller, who kept exterior defects, and possible structure defects from us to possibly get the sale. That doesnt trigger the "lemon law"? The car runs fine, it was only in poor condition before i got it and had a body shop look at it.
yes all of that does qualify for the lemon law, he has to disclose things that are wrong with the car at point of sale.
Go down there in person if you have to, hell call the police, they will probably back you up. There even might be a record of this guy selling trash cars before this.
Give me some information on the car, what it is, what engine and trans option, is it a vert, what year, how many miles and how much you paid.

um... Well lets see. its a 1998 3.8L V6 Automatic 2dr coupe its currently got 76xxx miles and i paid 1500 for it before repairs etc. My mom picked it out and got if for me for a birthday present.. but my dad insisted i buy it.. so after she had it painted and repaired i bought it off her. The guy jumped on the hood and had his kids jump on the roof to show its durability.. its got a salvage rebuild title.. which makes for a hard case tho.. she knew that when she bought it.. im sure he didnt do the damage.. but im sure he covered it up.

The lemon law does not count private party sales, that is for a car bought from a dealer and this is not considered a lemon. If the seller wilfully and knowingly hid things from you then you can sue him. That does not count thing you can see though such as dents, bad paint, holes in the dash etc, etc. It's your responsability to check these things before you buy it. Now if he knew it had a bad clutch and tried to hide that from you then you have grounds to sue him.
Just because the seller did not disclose things it doesn't make the car a lemon. A car has to have multiple problems that keeps happening so it spends more time in the shop than in your drive way to be a lemon. Also the police will not do a damn thing, it's a civil matter not criminal. Some of you really need to learn more about the law before giving out bad advice.
Although you have had issues with the car after only two hours, thisdoesn't qualify your car as a lemon. What youwill have to do is fix the clutch yourself or have a reputable shop do it for you. It sucks that the dealer won't answer your attempts to contact him but even if he did, he is not obligated to fix your car if you didn't geta warranty.
Check your quadrant, it may be damaged. If the cable was broken then you would have never gotten pressure back. The factory quadrant is plastic, so replace it with a billet one if that is the problem.
