My check engine light came on and it was the egr pressure sensor. How long does it take for it to turn off? Thanks

If it's bad, it will need to be replaced for the light to go off.

Is it catching another code?
If not, unhook your battery, let it sit for 15min, come back and see.

I just checked it again. It's code P0401. I'll clean the egr valve and see. Generally, how long does it take for the light to go off after you've replaced the problem? Thanks

You have to reset the computer to get it to shut off. You can do that one of two ways....clear it with a programmer/code reader.....or unhook the battery for awhile.
