i thought if u got a GOOD set of full length sub frames and made some additional bracing in the undercarriage that tied into the sfc's then u didnt need a cage, it almost defetes the purpose if u need it

The cage doesn't defeat the purpose of the targa. The targa is an open top design.

Yes, the link you posted is a good set up. The "swing out door bars" are almost a must on a daily driven vehicle. They will unpin and swing out when you get out, so they aren't in the way at all.

With good subframes, there will still be some sag in the chasis with that much cut out of the roof line.

Verts have WAY more support under the car right from the factory.
