I would recommend doing the split-port swap personal opinion. If your gonna build up the car get rid of that 7.5" rear end or it will snap. Get the 8.8".
I would also recommend anything over 11psi upgrade the internals or they wont last long.

ok man thanks millions.. ya were deffently building the motor to with stand boost. but i just didnt know how much hp the stock block could handle.. didnt know if we need'd a aftermarket block or not.. kinda new to the v6 performance scene. but this looks like its gonna be a fun project. thanks bro
It's actually my Stang we are working on.. and I'm totally new to the hold building the motor... so any input will be a great help out.. I want my 6er to be one of kind in the area... so let me know what everyone thinks...
http://rpm-mustangs.com/cart/product...281&page=1 aright so this right here if we bolted up a blower to it. what do you think about it holding up and everything.
A 3.8L hasnt failed yet because it couldnt hold the power or RPM's, it has always been parts failing.
The 3.8L is actually more stable than the 5.0L because it doesnt have core shift problems.
There have been a couple 600hp sixers that had other parts fail but not the block itself.
The most memerable is Matt and Nathans SN95. They had an M112 SC pushing 22psi and a 100hp shot of Nitrous, they broke 600hp from what I remember and were shooting for 700hp. The head lifted off of the block which is what caused them to fall short of their goal.
Matt and Nathan have been working with SSM for a custom lower intake manifold for an eaton M112 SC to bolt right on.
A 4.2L crank is good for around 750hp-800hp. If you nitrate it then add another 200-300hp ontop of that. It may not be forged but its steel and they have not ever broken. Matched up with a set of 6.200" long rods and custom pistons you will be doing great. I highly suggest not boring your engine out to make a 4.3L if you are boosting it.
SSM has a great kit right now for $1795 with everything you need to complete a shortblock. Go through them for your kit. Have him nitrate it too, I think thats another 2-300 dollars, im not sure.

It happens to be true. 4.2l Stroker seems to be the best bet for F/I, if you want N/A Morana Racing makes 4.4L strokers for these engines. BUT, a split port intake swap should be the first thing done. The heads and intakes are just plain better all around than the single ports.
